Amersham

Walking around Amersham market town, it struck me that it was not as busy as I would expect on a Saturday. Although there were no big departmental stores, there were enough varieties of shops to attract visitors.

Chorleywood

I don't really know what to make of Chorleywood. I didn't venture too far away from the station. Couldn't see any shops or signs of life in the area. Almost like a ghost town.

Rickmansworth

I love hopping on the Metropolitan Line. The trains are so clean and smooth plus I love the fact I can walk down the whole train while it is moving. Yes! There are no partitions between carriages! So here I am in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.  So near London and yet I am in the countryside. This little town has a lot of character. The narrow street of shops are not uncommon, yet they are housed in old buildings to make them feel different. A short walk from the town centre, I came across the theatre complex, Watersmeet.

Watford

Watford Station is situated away from the busy town centre although bus service is quite frequent. Cassiobury Park is within walking distance. This park is massive and boasts children's playground, paddling pools and miniature railway.

Croxley

Croxley is another quiet town with very few shopping facilities.

Moor Park

Moor Park Station brings me to an upmarket part of Hertfordshire. What struck me as odd is the station itself and the immediate vicinity is rather shabby. Cross the road to the right of the station, the area is transformed. Tree lined roads with detached houses and landscaped front gardens greeted me.

Northwood

Northwood is little busier in terms of shops than its neighbouring town, Northwood Hills. St Helen's, a private girls' school is within walking distance  from the station.
