Acton Central

By the time I got to Acton High Street it was too dark to take decent photos. The little market stalls next to St Mary's church were packing up and I knew it was time to head home.

West Acton

Just my luck that the District Line was not running, so could not get to Ealing Common to continue my journey on the Piccadilly. Took the Central Line from Ealing Broadway to West Acton and my nightmare began. I must have confused Acton with Ealing. Started walking and walking and walking until I finally got to Acton Central station only to discover it is in the middle of nowhere. Plus it will not take me anywhere near my destination so off I back trailed. To cut a long story short, I made a detour and ended up in Acton High Street. Ready to hop on a bus and post again. Here are some pics for distraction.

Ealing Broadway

Got a bit bored with sitting on the train and arriving at little towns, in my infinite wisdom, I hopped on a bus to get to the next town, Ealing Common. But wait! The bus took me to Ealing Broadway instead. So here I am. Might as well take a look around as Ealing Broadway has a big shopping mall and a few architectural buildings. And the christmas decorations are still up, right?

Park Royal

Park Royal Underground station is situated just off the A40 therefore I did not hang around long for fear of clogging up my lungs with unwanted gases.

Alperton

A short walk away from Alperton Station took me to the hustle and bustle of Ealing Road strewn with Asian businesses and shoppers. I have been down here a few times but this is the first time I came across the Shree Sanatan Hindu Temple in all its glory. It was a surprise and a joy to discover something new.

Sudbury Town

Sudbury Hill

I let the train take me to the next stop which is Sudbury Hill, a small town with few shops to serve the locals.

The Beginning.....South Harrow

Today, I woke up with this unusual idea. I have always liked taking photos of places I visited..... to jog my memory and also for keepsake. At first I thought of taking photos of Christmas decorations and celebrations around London. But that would limit my blogs to just once a year. So I have decided to take photos of every town that is on the London Underground map. That would keep me going. So today, 3 days after Christmas, cold and windy but the sun is shining... I started with South Harrow and jumped on the Piccadilly Line train to start this unusual journey. It is too early to tell how it will turn out but it's a start. I intend to keep this blog filled with more photos than text.
